Helps parents access resources for schooling and training, medical and dental care, and for basic needs (WIC, FAN Programs, etc.) and self help programs (AA, drug rehab, etc.). Provides educational programs on child rearing, nutrition, child abuse, etc. to help educate and inform parents. Encourages parent involvement as volunteers on committees and in classrooms. Teachers and FSW make several home visits to keep parents abreast of child's progress and to see how best to serve the families. Special needs services available on-site by referral.

Provides support services for basic needs and advocacy to low income residents of Nassau. Offers information, referrals, transportation and emergency assistance. Funds Community Action Programs in Freeport, Glen Cove, Hempstead, Port Washington, Rockville Centre, Lakeview, Roosevelt. Also offers MLK Scholarship Program, Displaced Homemakers Program, Job Readiness/Job Placement, Summer Youth Programs, Head Start Child Development, Downstate New York Healthy Start Program, College Tours to Historically Black Colleges.
