Dedicated to providing literacy support to children, adolescents, and adults in an environment where learners have the safety and support that allow them to take risks and gain confidence as they move toward developing mature control of literacy skills. The Reading/Writing Learning Clinic provides services to families in the communities that adjoin Hofstra University as well as in the larger metropolitan area. New York state-certified literacy specialists provide weekly small group or individual instruction. The Reading/Writing Learning Clinic also offers professional reading and writing evaluations for school-aged children and adults. Includes four clinics and a fully licensed early childhood program: The Diane Lindner-Goldberg Child Care Institute; Counseling and Mental Health Professions; Psychological Evaluation Research and Counseling; Reading/Writing Learning and Speech-Language-Hearing. Each of these units is affiliated with Hofstra University's School of Education, the School of Health and Human Services or Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Center supports high-quality educational and practical experiences for Hofstra University students, and provides services to Hofstra University employees and to the community-at-large. Access to multiple services within the Saltzman Center afford the opportunity for a comprehensive approach to clients' needs. Call for more information regarding each clinic.
