2 full years driving experience with 2 or fewer accidents or violations on record. Out of state and foreign drivers licenses OK. Age 18-20 eligible with other insurance and clean driving record. 21+ covered by program insurance. Age 80+ may require doctor note.

March 2024- Carshare has reopened after pausing for 9 months Self-service, 24-hour access to over 29 vehicles, including a pick-up truck and two (2) 7-passenger minivans, located in and around downtown, Fall Creek, South Hill, Collegetown, East Hill and Cornell, West Hill at Chestnut and Elm.Works best for short-term vehicle use, e.g., errands, appointments, etc. Vehicles can be reserved online or by phone. Gas, insurance, roadside assistance and regular maintenance are included in the hourly and mileage charges.Drivers must have a valid driver's license and apply for membership.Membership options include: 2 personal plans, suited for higher or lower frequency of vehicle use. The Easy Access membership for lower income individuals (150% FPL or less). Those receiving EBT/food stamps, Medicaid, or Free and Reduced school lunch are eligible. Comes with waived application fee, reduced monthly membership fee and $15 monthly driving credit. t Plans for organizations and businesses. Cornell University staff that participate in a commuter program eligible to receive discount. Cornell students also receive the discount. CCT's mission-focused services and activities include Ithaca Carshare (24/7 Carsharing program), Bike Walk Tompkins (cycling/pedestrian education and advocacy), and Ithaca Bikeshare (24/7 bikeshare network), emphasizing social equity and environmental sustainability in this era of new transportation options and emerging mobility trends.CCT works with local transportation providers, educators, planners, decision-makers, advocates, and users to fulfill our mission of enhancing transportation access in our community while reducing its negative environmental and economic impacts.
