The card is available to any Veteran who is an Erie County resident and honorably discharged from any branch of service of the United States Armed Forces.

Application process
Veterans: Upon filing ORIGINAL discharge papers with the Erie County Clerk, a Veteran will be issued their "Thank A Vet" discount card and their original document will be returned immediately upon recording. A scanned image is chronicled for safe-keeping and peace of mind. Discharge papers include: DD-214, DD-256, NGB-22 etc.

A discount program designed to honor local Veterans while driving commerce to area businesses. Provides a "Thank A Vet" card, a complimentary photo ID discount card for honorably discharged Veterans that can be used at over 1,400 participating local businesses. The card is certified by the Erie County Clerk to show that a Veteran has produced their original discharge paper and has been honorably discharged.
