211 LONG ISLAND | UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND

The program provides information about and referral to local health and human services offered by nonprofit organizations and government programs. The program operates a call center where trained call specialists help assess callers' needs, assist in finding available community resources and can communicate in 250 languages. The 211 Long Island database includes 10,000 program listings. The 211 Long Island website offers guided searches of 11 specialized, pre-determined searches such as housing, utility assistance, food and mental health/substance abuse. 211 Long Island is a partnership between United Way of Long Island, United Way of Hudson Valley, and the Middle Country Public Library.
