Eligibility

At least one household member must be 60 years of age or older to qualify, 80% or less of average mean income for the area, must be able to make a financial contribution to help cover the cost of materials & supplies for the project, any cost for permits, and professional fees.

People in our community partner with Habitat Dutchess to build or improve a place families can call home. Our services include home ownership, home repair and weatherization to income eligible families. All services require sweat equity on the part of the family and a mortgage or payment affordable for their income. With our help our Families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build, or maintain a better life for themselves and their families In addition to our construction services we operate a ReStore. This home goods store accepts high end, good quality donations and resells at a fraction of the value. The profits are then used to support our home ownership services. As a byproduct of this program Habitat save thousands of tons of landfills thereby reducing our local carbon foot print.
