Eligibility

Pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women; infants or children under age 5. Women with Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF automatically qualify, or can qualify by federal income guidelines. Must be a resident of New York State. WIC does not require US citizenship, social security number, green card, or legal residency to receive benefits. Service Area: Erie County.

Description

Provides basic food for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5. Eligible participants receive a food benefit card to purchase nutritious foods such as milk, eggs, cheese, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, cereal, peanut butter, and baby formula. Also offers nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and community referrals.
