Description
Offers a lacrosse camp for boys entering grades 2 through 12 who desire a full day of training experience in all facets of lacrosse. The camp places strong emphasis on instruction and works to improve your sons skills each-and-every day all while stressing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and focus. The goal of our Boys Lacrosse Camp is to teach the basics of individual, group and team lacrosse -- and have fun while doing it. Players learn the fundamental aspects of dodging, passing, catching and shooting, as well as individual defense, goalie play and face-off techniques. In addition, players learn team skills such as team offense, riding, clearing, team defense and transition play. Campers are placed on teams based on their age and ability, but will be adjusted, according to size, maturity and skill level following observation and evaluation by our professional coaches. Each day is divided into four periods: two practice sessions, lunch and an educational lecture and/or film, as well as the opportunity to swim twice per week. Lacrosse Camp utilizes Hofstra University’s state-of-the-art, outdoor facilities, an indoor heated Olympic-sized swimming pool and a fully equipped infirmary staffed by registered nurses. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and sneakers or cleats. Campers must also bring a water bottle. Bathing suit and towel will be needed on assigned swim days.
