Description

Provides on-the-job training in warehouse skills technology for at risk individuals at Long Island Cares Food Bank. Basic vocational skills, job search, and job placement assistance included.

Provides emergency food assistance to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations and sponsors programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency. Programs include the Regional Food Bank which collects and distributes emergency food to over 500 agencies in Nassau and Suffolk counties; New Paths to Achievement Career and Personal Development; Job Training and Job Development; The Kids Cafe which is an after-school alternative for at-risk children; Pack it Up for Kids Supplemental Weekend Food Program; Summer Feeding Programs, Mobile Pantry, School Tools Program; and First StopPantry (food assistance and referral).Publishes a Newsletter and educational materials. Speakers bureau available.
