Description
Responsible for maintaining more than 500 traffic signals across Brookhaven, including flashing signals, flashing beacons and driver feedback devices. To report a malfunctioning traffic signal or any other concerns, call 631-451-6480 during regular business hours (Mon-Fri 8am-3:30pm) or call 631-451-8696 after hours (24 hours a day/7 days a week).

Maintenance and installation of traffic control devices such as traffic signals, pavement markings, signage and guide rails. Traffic safety educational programs include the following; child passenger safety program, an elementary school-age educational program held at our Safety Town facility located in Holtsville, which teaches students pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle safety, a teen driver safety program that educates teens about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving and an adult defensive driving educational program which may reduce the cost of your car insurance or points on a license.
