The Southside Community Center provides a focus for community development on Ithaca's Southside and, serves as a center for empowerment for African-American citizens of greater Ithaca. The Center not only works to preserve, build and strengthen community resources through forums and activities in education, recreation and political and social awareness but seeks to develop a wider appreciation for the contributions of people of African descent in greater Ithaca and in the larger world community.
