Eligibility

Residents of New York's upstate counties who: - Have an active account with National Grid with a balance of at least $1.00 OR a fuel account AND - Have exhausted all sources of HEAP before applying. Service Area: WNY.

Application process

Call for information about how to apply. Clients can apply by phone or in person by appointment. Only one application per household per season will be accepted. The following are required for application: - Proof of HEAP benefits that were received during the current season. - Photo ID for head of household and household members 18 and older. - Birth certificate, health insurance, or benefit card for household members under 18. - Proof of income for the last 30 days. - Most recent National Grid bill.

Description

Provides a fuel-blind grant of $501 to assist with household energy expenses. Care & Share is available to residents of New York's upstate counties and can be received once per heating season. The program is administered by National Grid and provided by HeartShare, who partner with local sites to accept applications.
