Responsible for investigating complaints about physicians, physician assistants, and specialist assistants. Monitors practitioners who have been placed on probation. Staffs the Board for Professional Medical Misconduct, whose members adjudicate cases and develop policy and direction regarding medical misconduct issues.

Provides access to vital statistics and records. (Not NYC). Provides access to comprehensive health care coverage to underinsured adults and children.
