Works in conjunction with Local Police Departments and has implemented an accessible Parking Education Enforcement Program. Volunteer agents and Auxiliary Police patrol parking lots to ticket violators. Parking areas are also checked for compliance with the handicapped parking requirements of the State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Call for detailed information.

SUFFOLK COUNTY OFFICE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Work for the benefit of Suffolk County's 283,000 people with disabilities. Office responsibilities include: coordinating County services for people with disabilities; developing programs that assist people with disabilities in becoming more self sufficient; advocating for changes to resolve issues facing the disabled; provide information and referrals for County residents with disabilities; and provide specialized services not available through other County departments. In addition, the Office ensures County government compliance with federal mandates under the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rehabilitation.
