Covid Update 12/2020- FLIC is open. However, staff are working on site part time and working remotely part time. We plan to provide as many services as possible through phone, email, Zoom or any other technology to minimize face-to-face contact. You can email staff members if you are already working with a particular person.Two-week loan for in-home try out of assistive devices to help individuals maintain their independence.

Promotes independence and informed decision-making for people with disabilities, their families and friends: education on rights and responsibilities; helps solve problems of independent living information and explanation of benefits, eligibility requirements and procedures independent living skills and training for those who want to enter the workforce peer counseling and support groups convalescent and adaptive equipment for loan free community outreach speakers, workshops and training to develop awareness of disability issues operates Consumer Directed Personal Assistance program for Tompkins County Medicaid recipients social activities for individuals with disabilities workshops on managing chronic health conditions and other disability-related topics sign language interpreter referrals and American Sign Language classes architectural accessibility consultations and modular ramp installation.
