Provides an 18-bed cancer care unit as part of the general hospital setting and utilizes all of the medical center's ancillary services. Addresses the physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs of the patients and families. Provides inpatient care, coordinated home care, education, support groups and bereavement care. Team consists of nurses, physicians, pastoral counselors, nutritionists, social workers, and volunteers.

Mercy Medical Center is a 375-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center which serves the residents of Nassau County with a variety of medical and surgical specialties.
