Serves individuals, both in and out of court, who live or work in Nassau County and whose constitutional rights have been violated by government officials, at any level.Takes all valid First Amendment cases involving freedom of speech, religion, press or protest. In the areas of due process, privacy and equal protection, only takes cases to overturn unfair laws, rules or policies. As the local presence of the American Civil Liberties Union, publishes the NYCLU Nassau Newsletter, booklets on job rights, students rights and civil liberties in general, offers other educational material, and maintains a Speakers Bureau that gives presentations to students and community groups.
