Description

Offers group instruction based on real life situations to immigrants and foreign-born residents an opportunity to learn English while discussing relevant issues. May include family, the educational system, health and safety, American culture,and U.S. government. Other language experience activities for adults include games, role playing, and other interactive exercises to increase English fluency.

Provides volunteer tutor training classes for individuals and small groups in reading instruction, English as a second language, and telephone conversation partners. Other programs include volunteer readers mentoring from businesses with children in nearby schools to read aloud during children's lunch time and a computer literacy program, math tutoring, financial literacy, and conversation partners.
