Description
Taught by trained parent educators, this program is designed to prepare 6th graders for Middle School. Informative and practical parent/child activities in four week sessions that include: handling peer pressure, dealing with a bully, making and changing friends, manners and adults, becoming responsible and safe homes. The Community Parent Center aims to support parents in their effort to do what is best for their children. Focusing on parenting issues and family wellness, the center is committed to work with local parent and community organizations to bring to parents information, resources, and the opportunity to be part of a supportive parent network. Parents are invited to participate in our center to find mutual support and resources to address family issues generated by changing social conditions. We offer our services to families with children in grades PreK-12. Serves Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Publishes a newsletter and calendar of events. Affiliated with local PTA's, local school districts and Tempo Group.
