Description

Advocates for the incarcerated persons and, where possible, secures their release on bond with monies from various sources or into the custody of Nassau Incarcerated Person Assistance Program (I.P.A.P.). In addition to securing their release, if appropriate, the individuals are given supportive counseling and assistance in finding meaningful job opportunities. With a growing diverse population, this unit, has been very active in coordinating conference seminars, and addressing positive human relations. This unit of the commission actively responds to bias incidents in all communities of the county. The services offered include: Community Relations; Compliance and Investigation; Job Development Center; Multicultural Programs and Pre-Trial Services.
