Helps to alleviate the feelings of isolation and loneliness that people feel due to their illness by providing an opportunity for adults suffering from schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, depression or other personality or mood disorders to develop friendships and social skills. Referral required.

NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR THE MENTALLY ILL - QUEENS NASSAU
Provides support, education, and advocacy for families of people with mental illnesses including: schizophrenia, manic depression, major depression, and obsessive compulsive disorders. Monthly meetings are held at the Sloman Auditorium, North Shore-LIJ/The Zucker Hillside Hospital, 76th Avenue and 266th Street, Glen Oaks, New York on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm. They are prededed by a support group meeting for families and friends at 6pm. Call for more information.
