Families in need of emergency housing; 2 parents with child(ren), single mom with child(ren), single dad with child(ren), other family compositions. Access to all Emergency Housing for Homeless Persons Requires a Referral by a DSS office location/hotline operator. For Nassau County, please call (516)227-8519 or the evening/emergency number at (516)573-8626. For Suffolk County, please call (631)854-9517 or the evening/emergency number at (631)854-9100. If you are ineligible for DSS services, please call Long Island Coalition for the Homeless at (631)464-4314.

Provides emergency shelter for families who are homeless in Nassau County. Majority of beds require authorization from the Nassau County Department of Social Services. Limited number of short term beds are available for families who are denied shelter through DSS and have a plan to secure housing. Speakers Bureau available. Call for information.

Known as The INN. Feeds the hungry, provides long term low-cost housing and emergency shelter , educates the public and government as to the needs and extent of the homeless and hungry and guides individuals and families in need of existing services. Soup kitchens open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, shelters operate on 24 hour basis and long term housing functions on a continuing basis. Provides a speakers bureau and will send speakers out to community meetings, schools, houses of worship and other organizations. Call for more information.
