Volunteer Ombudsmen advocate for elderly residents and their families in nursing homes, adult homes and hospitals. The Ombudsmen investigate complaints and helps to resolve problems. This is a federally mandated program.

The Office for the Aging assists Ulster County residents, age 60 and older, to be as independent as possible, for as long as possible, through advocacy and the development and delivery of cost effective policies, programs and services that support and empower the elderly and their families in partnership with the network of public and private organizations which serve them.
