The purpose of the neuropsychological evaluation is to make a detailed assessment of the patient's cognitive and emotional functioning. The examination includes a interview, review or records, and extensive individual evaluation through formalized test administration. After these steps are completed, an interpretive session is scheduled with the patient and his or her family to discuss the results and provide recommendations.
