Eligibility
Developmentally disabled children ages 5-21 in Suffolk County. Must have a diagnosed developmental disability that is diagnosed prior to the age of 22. Diagnostic information must be signed by an MD or PhD. Referral required.

Provides residential services to developmentally disabled individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. These homes are located on both the main campus in Smithtown and DDI's Huntington Campus. Children in residence attend Developmental Disabilities Institute Day School and then return to their residence where supervised recreation and daily living activities continue. Program operates 365 days per year

DDI is a non-profit agency dedicated to the education and habilitation of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Programs at DDI begin with infancy and continue through the school years and adulthood. While DDI's children and adults display a range of disabilities, DDI is most renowned for its work with autism. Programs include family focused early intervention, parent education/counseling, day/residential programs, vocational training, and medical, medical specialty and dental services for patients with developmental disabilities. Serves Suffolk and Nassau counties. Speakers Bureau on the agency, ABA training, autism, community integration and vocational opportunities.
