After School Program - West Side Community Services

After-school enrichment program for kids in grades K-6. A hot meal is offered daily. Offers evidence-based violence, drug, and alcohol prevention programming that teaches participants alternative behaviors to resolve conflicts and express emotions. Classroom workshop topics include anger management, conflict resolution, empathy training, and problem solving. Program has a health and wellness component providing activities and gym time, an academic support component providing help with school subjects and homework, and a creative component providing arts and crafts activities.

Application process

Parent/caregiver must submit completed application (available at office and on website). Vaccination record must be provided as well.

Fee

Fees are based on income. West Side Community Services can help families apply for financial aid through the Child Care Assistance Program offered by the Erie County Department of Social Services. To qualify for financial aid through this program, you must submit a completed Child Care Assistance Program application to DSS. Applications are available at the West Side Community Services office and on the DSS website.
