Offers 530-bed tertiary-care teaching hospital as well as A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility; NuHealth Family Health Centers and Primary Care Center. In addition to its own extensive medical and surgical capabilities, NUMC is affiliated with the Northwell Health System. NUMC is a Level I trauma center. Some Outstanding Features Include: Nassau County Firefighters Burn Center; Designated Stroke Center; Zaki Hossain Center for Hypertension, Diabetes and Vascular Disease; Extensive laboratory imaging and research facilities and Expansive two-level Health Sciences Library. For more than 60 years, NUMC has maintained a strong commitment to medical education. We are academically affiliated with the Northwell Health System, the Health Sciences Center of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, and the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
