Offers children in need the friendship and guidance of caring adult volunteers. Provides academic tutoring, athletics programs, arts and crafts, and vocational instruction. Requests adult volunteer commit for at least four hours per month, weekly or bi-weekly.

There are several programs offered in various locations including a campus setting in Syosset, group homes for boys and girls in Nassau and Suffolk, Preventive Service offices in West Hempstead and South Ozone Park, and foster boarding homes located in Brooklyn, Far Rockaway, and throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Children served in our programs are dependent, neglected, abused, or court ordered into mercyFirst as the result of PINS (Persons in need of Supervision) or JD (Juvenile Delinquent) behaviors.
