Offers older adults, ages 55+, the opportunity to work with children in need. Foster Grandparents are present in classrooms, childcare centers, and Head Start programs throughout Niagara County. Foster Grandparents can serve as mentors, tutors, caregivers, or role models to the children they work with. Income-eligible volunteers are provided with a tax-free stipend, accident and liability insurance, and mileage reimbursement. A minimum of 10 hours of service per week is required; the maximum amount of hours per week is 40. A comprehensive background check and physical are required before service may begin.
