Helps hospitalized and institutionalized patients and families with their rights. Assists patients of any age with information about their patient rights, helps patients staying in hospitals, nursing homes, receiving care in medical facilities with appeals, discharges, and quality of care complaints.

NEW YORK STATEWIDE SENIOR ACTION COUNCIL

Grassroots not for profit organization made up of seniors and senior organizations, advocating for senior rights and benefits and assisting seniors with outreach and education since 1972. Our programs are conducted through our statewide helpline available in each county in NY: 800-333-4374.

Our Patients Rights program helps hospitalized and institutionalized patients and families with their rights.

Our Managed Care Counseling and Assistance Program informs, educates and assists seniors and their families in making informed decisions about Medicare insurance, assist with Medicare billing issues, help with coverage appeals, provide unbiased help to find Medicare plans.

Our Senior Medicare Patrol program SMP educates seniors and others about Medicare fraud prevention and helps report fraud on our statewide helpline.
