OFFICE FOR AGING, CORTLAND COUNTY- MEALS ON WHEELS | OFFICE FOR AGING, CORTLAND COUNTY

Home-delivered meals for Cortland County residents age 60+ who cannot prepare meals for themselves and are homebound.Each participant is assessed for eligibility and determining his/her unmet needs with referrals to other agencies and services as appropriate.Meals meet 1/3 of the recommended daily dietary allowance and contain 600 to 800 calories. Registered dietitian provides nutrition counseling on special diets and dietary status.Meal cost exceeds $8.00, but the suggested donation is $3 per meal. However, individuals are encouraged to donate what they can afford.

The Community Food Pantry provides food, personal care products, some household supplies, infant formula and diapers to Cortland County residents free of charge.Call ahead (607)756 5992 ext. 110 for information and schedule if possible. Walk-in service is an option, although limited due to COVID-19. A family receives food for 9 meals and can use the pantry once a month. Open Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 1pm-4pm. Household necessities, such as toilet paper, soap, personal care products and other items that cannot be purchased with Food Stamps are also available. Inventory of these items varies.

MEALS ON WHEELS - BCOFA | BROOME COUNTY OFFICE FOR AGING

Meals are delivered Monday through Friday by volunteers who check on participants each day. Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed to deliver meals once a week, Monday - Friday, between 11am and 1pm. You can sign up to be a driver, visitor, or both. Routes are available in various locations throughout Broome County including Binghamton, Chenango Bridge, Conklin/Kirkwood, Harpursville and Whitney Point. Volunteer drivers receive a mileage reimbursement.NOTE: (For service to Endicott, Johnson City, Town of Union, Vestal, and Maine, see Meals on Wheels of Western Broome.)
