Dorothy J. Collier Community Center

Senior Social Care Program providing Stay Fit Dining where enrolled seniors are eligible to receive nutritious lunches, weekly social and physical activities, and educational programs. Also provides a bread and pastry pantry with access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Serves as a Cooling Center during times of extreme heat. Always call to make sure a Cooling Center is open before going there.

Baby Love Program provides diapers, wipes, baby food, and formula twice per month. Giving Tree collects and provides assistance for specific needs including children's coats, baby needs, Christmas gifts, and back to school needs among others.

Frozen Meal Pick-Up Program - Erie County Department for the Aging

Provides frozen meals available via pickup from participating senior center locations throughout Erie County. Seniors can choose between a 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10 meal pack that can be picked up once a week from participating locations. A roll, milk, and dessert are included with each meal.

2-1-1 Tompkins/Cortland handles all phone registrations for mobile distribution events in Tompkins County. Currently, one distribution in Freeville on the second Tuesday of each month. Registration begins one day prior, either online or by calling 2-1-1 or 877-211-8667. Distributes food to people in need through more than 160 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other hunger relief organizations six counties.Administers several direct service food distribution programs including the food "BackPack Program" and Mobile Food Pantry.BackPack Program requires very specific foods. Kid-friendly Nutritious: at least 8 items, 2 Proteins, 2 Grains, 2 Dairy & 2 Fruits or Vegetables Individually packaged, unbreakable Small and light enough to carry Shelf stable Easy to prepare, even without a stove (or in some cases a can opener)Mobile Food Pantry The Mobile Food Pantry program brings fresh produce, dairy products, and other food and grocery products directly to distribution sites where people need food. When the mobile food pantry truck arrives at a site, volunteers place the food on tables surrounding the truck. Clients are then able to "shop", choosing items that they need.
