Operates East Meadow Farm (EMF) Horticulture and Demonstration Garden Center. Provides educational information on water conservation, pesticide reduction and pollution awareness, integrated pest management practices, horticulture waste reduction, plant care for garden/landscape and pesticide safety. Operates Environmental Horticulture Information Center and a Horticulture Helpline. Horticulture enrollees receive L.I. Gardening Publication. Call for registration information. Conducts CCE Master Gardener volunteer training program. Soil testing and demonstration gardens are at East Meadow Farm location.

These programs aim to engage and inspire residents, businesses, and municipalities, throughout the Town of North Hempstead, to participate in actions that will foster ecological balance, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and help North Hempstead adapt to a changing climate, ensuring a healthy, resilient community now and in the future. Promotes the beautification and planting of trees in community. Provides Garden Therapy to adult centers. Assists with landscaping work for Habitat for Humanity. Monthly meetings at different sites feature speakers on various topics such as composting, ecology, flower arranging, etc. Offers garden tours(June) and fundraiser(December) on alternating years. The Cornell Cooperative Extension links the research from Cornell University and applies it to maximize New York State's agricultural and natural resources. It also provides programming, services, and information regarding sustainability, nutrition, food safety, obesity prevention, and youth development/education (through the 4-H program). It is committed to contribute to NYS communities and empower their futures. This organization provides services across five sectors: Agriculture, Community, Environment, Nutrition, and Youth/Families.

Operates and oversees a takeout ready to eat community kitchen and provides an emergency food pantry and mobile food pantry. Other services include food recovery, food redistribution, community gardens, and seedling provision.
