Provides food to Southold families in need. Food donated by individuals, organizations, local farm stands, Long Island Cares and Island Harvest are collected and distributed at the main office. Also offers winter, spring and summer breakfast and lunch foods for school aged children during school recesses and summer vacation.

Provides food and basic necessities to the residents of Broome County who are in need. Emergency home deliveries may be available to home-bound individuals due to an illness, disability, age, seniors who are unable to operate a vehicle and to those who are un-housed and in need of food and other resources.

If eligible, the SNAP benefit is made available on a card that can be scanned at grocery stores to be used as money to purchase food. Expedited service is available to very low-income families and individuals.Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) are SNAP recipients aged 18-64 who are able to work and don't have a dependent child in their household. They can only receive SNAP benefits for a limited time (3 months in a 36-month period) unless they meet certain work requirements or have an exemption. These work requirements generally involve working or participating in a work program for at least 20 hours per week (80 hours per month). Distributes food and food-related products to people in need through a network of more than 130 hunger-relief member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other non-profit organizations. The Food Bank also has a number of direct service programs that fight hunger including the BackPack Program and Mobile Food Pantry. Located in Elmira, NY the Food Bank is a regional agency of Catholic Charities and a member of Feeding America.
