Rents, sells, repairs and installs new and used mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, scooters, ramps, stair, patient and pool lifts and medical equipment to individuals on Long Island and the tri-state area. Offers the services of a certified aging-in-place specialist to assist with an evaluation of the individuals's living situation, recommendation of medical equipment and mobility products and provides information on assisted living and senior care services.

Home modification refers to adaptations to the home environment to increase ease of use, safety, comfort, security, and independence. Major modifications include ramps, roll-in showers, and lowered countertops. Minor modifications include grab bars, widened doorways, better lighting, hand-held showers, and lever door handles.

Provides independent living skills, information and referral, advocacy, peer counseling, transitional services, benefits and entitlements advisement, educational advocacy, nursing home transition into the community, individual support services, Olmsted housing subsidies, and support groups for people with disabilities. Transportation available. Loan closet provides free, gently used medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, shower benches, raised toilet seats, portable ramps, and more, based on availability.

This program provides modifications that improve accessibility and mobility within the home. Installs ramps, grab bars, or other structural changes to a home so that people with physical limitations can gain better access of the home.

Purchases and installs modular aluminum ramp systems for use by older persons.Agency retains ownership of ramps: when a household no longer needs the ramp, it is removed, reconfigured and installed for use by another household.

Provides repair service for seniors 55+ to do small home repair and installation, such as: leaky faucets, railings, wheelchair ramps, porch/stair repair, safety devices, locks, etc. Labor free of charge, clients pay for materials.
