Update June 2025- the ALICE program is out of funding. The program is closed indefinitely. Check back for updates including the limited funding assistance expected later this summer for individuals coming out of homelessness. SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES (SSVF) | CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF ONONDAGA COUNTY

Provides supportive services to very low income Veterans and their families who are homeless or are in danger of losing their homes. Services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other benefits. Provides time-limited payments to third parties, such as landlords, utility companies, moving and storage companies, and child care providers, if those payments can help Veteran families stay in or obtain permanent, sustainable housing.

SHELTER PLUS CARE - GREATER OPS | GREATER OPPORTUNITIES FOR BROOME AND CHENANGO, INC.

This is a permanent supportive housing program that provides supportive case management, as well as rental subsidies.Tenants who are enrolled in in the program work in collaboration with case management services in order for tenants to overcome barriers in achieving their desired outcome. The goal of the program is to transition chronically homeless individuals and families into stable housing and assist them in achieving financial independence.Referrals are accepted from other agencies that work with homeless populations. We document and record past living situations and establish a plan that involves both what actions the case manager will take and the steps the clients will follow to realize their goals.

IN HOME VISITATIONS | ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY - CANANDAIGUA

* Provides financial assistance to those in need, including rent payments, utility bills, and car repairs. Services are provided in individuals' homes. The program aims to assist individuals with typically one-time and short-term issues. Otherwise, individuals are referred to other organizations more capable of supporting longer-term issues.

HOUSING STABILITY SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM | HUMAN SERVICES COALITION OF TC, INC.

As of 11/23, we are only taking HSSP intakes for the waitlist in case future funding is available. If the client is currently in eviction court, or is in eviction court after 01/15/2022, they may be eligible to complete an intake for HSSP cohort 4.Provides financial support to residents of the City of Ithaca who are at risk of displacement in the form of $300/month in basic income for 18 months. Tenants must be under 30% AMI and a City of Ithaca resident to apply.

After five years, a Family Assistance recipient may continue to receive benefits if an adult is disabled and cannot work or may be required to apply for assistance through the Safety Net category.

Safety Net Assistance (SNA) provides money for basic living expenses for single adults and childless couples (or families who have used up their five-year limit of FA). Cash benefits are limited to two years in a recipient's lifetime. After two years, the non-cash Safety Net Assistance voucher system provides benefits.

Emergency Temporary Assistance through Emergency Assistance for Families (EAF) or Emergency Safety Net Assistance (ESNA) provides assistance for crisis situations including evictions, moving expenses, utility shutoffs, and diversion payments to help individuals avoid the need for ongoing assistance.
