PUBLIC HOUSING: 27 developments throughout city. Eligible applicants are placed on a site-based waiting list at the time of application. When their position on the waiting list is reached, they are offered units in their chosen development. Eligibility requires meeting the low income limits for the number of persons in their family. Placement factors: date of application, priority and preferences, broad range of income. Waiting lists may close if applications exceed supply. Provides rental assistance payments to landlords on behalf of eligible tenants. Landlord receives monthly payments of the difference between the amount the tenant can afford to pay 30%-40% of income and the rental charge.
