Olean District Office - Catholic Charities

Assistance is available, when funds exist, for food and hygiene products, typically in the form of food vouchers/gift cards. Provides financial assistance, budgeting, advocacy, and referral. Counseling offered for depression, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, communication issues, problem solving, family transitions, and parent/child conflicts. Offers grief support groups and Domestic Violence Victims weekly support groups. Confidential location of the Domestic Violence Victims group is shared with women when they call for information. Other support groups may be formed based on need or upon request.

Community Fridge & Shelves at Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Library - Rooted In Love

Offers a supply of fresh produce, dairy items, hygiene products, socks, and various household necessities. Located inside the back entrance of the Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Public Library. The fridge and shelves are supplied by a collaborative effort between Rooted In Love, Club HBHF, and Dion's Dreamers. Rooted In Love contributes fresh produce and dairy items; Club HBHF contributes personal protective equipment, socks, and various household necessities; and Dion's Dreamers contributes hygiene products. Items are also contributed by different partner organizations each week.

Neighborhood Center - Niagara Falls - Niagara Community Action Program

Provides on-site emergency food pantry for residents of specific streets in Niagara Falls (call for details) and information on meal planning and budgeting. Also distributes food donations (separate from pantry services) three days per week; first come, first served. Items and quantities vary each week according to donations received, and are given out until they're gone. Provides back rent, mortgage, and utility payment assistance to low income residents of Niagara Falls when funds are available; funds are currently unavailable. Fair Housing Advocacy Program assists individuals who feel they are victims of discrimination when purchasing or renting a home. Provides information, assessment, and referral to the appropriate federal, state, or local human rights agency or court. Housing location services and landlord/tenant advocacy also provided. Individual advocacy, information and referral, application assistance, case management, asset management, and budget counseling available.

Provides emergency services on a walk-in or referral basis, including food pantry, rental assistance for eviction prevention, utility shut-off assistance, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and diapers. Emergency clothing and limited household supplies available by voucher to Community Action's Main Street Thrift Store (also located at 131 South Main Street). Also offers personalized case management, through which clients can be connected with vital services such as primary care, behavioral health services, peer counseling, insurance enrollment, and health home coordination, with the goal of empowering families to achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
