COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP (CAP) OF DUTCHESS COUNTY | DUTCHESS COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING

Picks up older adult residents of the city of Beacon who do not drive, and transports them to OFA's Beacon Friendship Center at Forrestal Heights. Also, any older adult that does not drive and regardless of whether they attend the Friendship Center, may be eligible to be transported to Walmart or Shop Rite in Fishkill once per week for one hour of shopping.

VETERANS SERVICES | ULSTER COUNTY VETERAN'S SERVICE AGENCY

The Ulster County Veteran Services Agency (UCVSA) provides support to County veterans and their families in obtaining medical, disability, pension and education benefits from the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) and the NYS Department of Veteran Affairs. The UCVSA also helps veterans with issues such as homelessness, burials, tax exemptions, employment, transportation and the FAVOR discount card program, and performs outreach to local communities and service organizations. Provides transportation to and from Kingston VA Primary Care Outpatient Clinic. Reservations required for transportation services.

DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICE | CLINTON COUNTY PUBLIC TRANSIT (CCPT)

Dial-A-Ride is a bus service open to the public where people within the service area can call to arrange a ride. The bus provides a curb-to-curb service; meaning it can pick you up at the end of your driveway and take you to your destination. The bus picks up at approximately 9:30 am and brings you back at approximately 2:30 pm. The times have some flexibility and can be set when you call our dispatch office to make an appointment.

ABLE-RIDE / PARATRANSIT PROGRAM | NASSAU COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED

Offers a unique service that has been a great help to individuals with disabilities who cannot utilize line-haul transit buses. The Able-Ride / Paratransit Program provides public curb-to-curb transportation through the MTA-Long Island Bus service. Individuals with disabilities are evaluated and approved under federal standards contained in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The service is available only within Nassau County. AbleRide will pick up the person with a physical disability outside the home and take the individual to visit the doctor, go shopping, commute to work, or even attend social events. The participant may travel with an aide or a companion. There is a fee each way for the individual with the disability as well as for companions. Aides travel free of charge. In some cases, Medicaid coverage may be applied. Contact Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) Bus at 516-228-4028 for an application. Call for more detailed information.

Provides transportation for people aged 60 and over who cannot use conventional means of transportation. Reservations for health related trips may be scheduled up to two weeks in advance, to the day. Non-medical trips (food/nutrition, personal business, social activities) may be scheduled one week in advance, to the day.

SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM | YORKTOWN TOWN

Yorktown Senior Services offers transportation for seniors to and from the Senior Nutrition Center, local supermarkets on Tuesdays, local shopping from Beaver Ridge on Tuesdays and local shopping from Jefferson Village on Wednesdays. See website or contact Nutrition Center for details. There is a suggested, voluntary contribution for these services. Separately, individuals can schedule rides for medical appointments, shopping, cultural events, hairdresser appointments and errands via RideConnect at the second number listed above. The transportation is provided by volunteers and the RideConnect bus.
