Independence Express - WNYIL
Peer Transportation Program: Provides rides to work and work related activities for up to 3 months for people who have been diagnosed with a mental health disability and live in Erie County. Also provides bus passes when an eligible individual begins work.
Family Support Services: For people who receive services through OPWDD and live with a member of their own family in Erie, Niagara, Genesee, or Orleans County. Provides up to 6 round trips per month for the family to the destination of their choice in Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties. May also provide a bus pass to the eligible individual in Erie or Niagara Counties.
Fee For Service Transportation: Transportation available on a fee for service basis. All transportation is provided on a first come, first served basis in order of priority of each program. Services for residents living in Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties. Anyone canceling 3 times without calling will no longer receive transportation.

Provides emergency housing placement after hours for the Erie County Department of Social Services (ECDSS). Assesses callers with emergency housing needs to determine if their situation makes them eligible for emergency shelter provided by the County, and provides placement for clients determined to be eligible.
Available during hours that the Department of Social Services is closed: Monday-Friday, 4pm-8am; 24 hours a day on holidays and weekends.
Also provides transportation for individuals placed after hours for ECDSS by 211 WNY.

Program activities include congregate dining, low-impact aerobics exercise, pinochle, cards, Bingo, art classes compliments of Art Services, Inc., healthy aging education, recreational activities, day trips, and more.
Transportation is provided for those in need to and from all the VCA senior programs on Tuesday through Friday.
