The Town Clerk is responsible for keeping records of the Town Board meetings and all contracts and agreements the Town makes. The Clerk processes numerous licenses and permits and certificates of birth, marriage and death. She also serves as the Records Management Officer, acts as the Registrar of Vital Statistics and is in charge of running Local Elections.

Provides transitioning veterans regular one-on-one sessions with a financial coach in order to link their goals and values to their financial dreams, create an action plan and track progress towards the goals mutually set by them. Safeguards the rights of health care consumers statewide through investigation of and enforcement against insurers, providers, drug companies, and other individuals and entities that engage in fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, or illegal practices in the health care market. Offers a toll-free Healthcare Helpline which provides information and assistance to help resolve consumer health-related complaints and make sure consumers and patients get access to the health care they are entitled to. Can help consumers to: - Challenge health insurers that won’t cover their provider costs - Navigate the complex health care system - Target health care organizations that have fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive practices Also educates New Yorkers about the rights and protections they have available to them under the Managed Care Bill of Rights and other health and consumer protection laws, and advocates for legislation and policy initiatives to enhance the rights of health care consumers and their ability to access quality, affordable care in New York State.

Responsible for the regulation of public water supplies and all residential or small commercial private wastewater treatment facilities and for the review and approval of plans for new or replacement water lines, sanitary sewers, private wastewater treatment systems, public swimming pools, and realty subdivisions.

Focuses on creating asset development opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs. Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Program site serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Warming/Cooling Center is open before going there.

Responsible for supervising charitable organizations to protect donors and beneficiaries of those charities from unscrupulous practices in the solicitation and management of charitable assets. Also supervises the activity of foundations and other charities to ensure that their funds and other property devoted to charitable purposes are properly used, and protects the public interest in charitable gifts and bequests contained in wills and trust agreements. The Bureau also maintains a registry of charities and fundraising professionals. Charitable organizations operating in New York State are required by law to register and file annual financial reports with the Attorney General's Office. This includes any organization that conducts charitable activities, holds property that is used for charitable purposes, or solicits financial or other contributions.

Provides assistance which helps to ensure that parents fulfill their mutual obligation to financially support and provide health care for their children. Included are services for people who want to locate an absent parent; establish paternity; establish a child support order; request that the non-custodial parent provide health insurance for a child in conjunction with a child support order; change the amount of a child support award; dispute a child support award; or enforce payment of child support monies in cases where the supporting parent is delinquent in paying or refuses to pay or make health insurance arrangements altogether. Provides legal assistance for people who want to petition the court to transfer the right to collect wages earned by their ex-spouses to themselves in cases where the ex-spouse is under court order to pay child support and fails to pay as required. Under this arrangement, the amount of the child support check is taken from the delinquent parent's paycheck and sent directly to the parent who has custody of the child.

A free college and career access program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and hosted at SUNY Genesee Community College. AEOC provides free support to aid community members in applying to, funding and enrolling in further education. The purpose of the program is to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. Staff are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of high school equivalencies, higher education applications and processes, state and federal financial aid, veteran and family-of-veteran education benefits, and scholarship opportunities available at the local, state, and national levels. Program offers individualized one-on-one appointments with highly-trained Outreach Specialists who can assist with: - College and trade school applications - Financial aid applications and scholarship searches - High school equivalency options - Career counseling and vocational training options - Educational opportunities for veterans - Financial literacy and planning Although hosted by SUNY GCC, the program does not recruit on behalf of the college, per grant requirement. Provides free tax preparation to individuals and families with household income of $67,000 or less. Returns are prepared by IRS certified volunteers. Both in-person and drop-off virtual tax preparation are available.

Office for claims and inquiries about Social Security and SSI; initial claims only for Medicare. Issues social security cards. Offers benefit programs to assist retired or disabled, as well as aged or disabled in need. Also offers programs to assist certain dependents and survivors, as well as coal miners (Black Lung Benefits).

Responsible for the establishment and enforcement of child support orders; paternity establishment; location of absent parents for child support purposes; collection and disbursement of child support, including medical insurance coverage and day care support. Obtains support from out of state respondents. Limited help available for spousal only support. Can provide legal representation in family court for non-Public Assistance clients, if requested by client.
