Operates programs that protect the public from adulterated food, unhealthy living conditions and health nuisances. The department is also responsible for enforcing the Suffolk County Sanitary Code and the Local Laws of Suffolk County. The Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) is responsible for inspecting and permitting over 1000 various food service establishments (FSE)s, including restaurants, cafeterias, food trucks, and food stands.
