Provides detailed information about adoptions and New York State's foster care system and the needs of children in temporary out-of-home placement. Helps interested individuals go through the fostering or adoption process and provides information and supports for families with foster or adopted children in the home.

Approved to offer the new Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor CASAC 350-Hour Standardized Curriculum. If you are seeking your CASAC certification, you must now take the 350 educational hours with one provider or school, and there are no longer elective courses. Upon completion of the 350-Hour program, students will be issued the OASAS CASAC 350-Hour Standardized Certificate of Completion. Students will be required to submit this document to the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services' (OASAS) Credentialing Unit when submitting your application for your credential. Please note that completion of the 350-hour program does not provide you with CASAC Trainee status. Students must complete and submit the OASAS Credentialing application and required fee to OASAS' Credentialing Unit staff to achieve this status. Upon receipt of the application, a review will be conducted to determine eligibility for the CASAC Trainee and CASAC Examination. Those students who are already CASAC's and must renew their credential with NYS-OASAS must document 60 clock hours (40 hours must be related to addictions). Offers referrals to parents seeking registered child care provider information. Also provides information regarding regulated child care and child care subsidy funds to parents. Provides regulatory over site of registered day care/child care programs, support and guidance of registration and application process and assisting child care providers with training and technical assistance. Administers the CACFP program which provides nutrition and meal planning education services and meal reimbursement to family day care providers.

Responsible for supervising charitable organizations to protect donors and beneficiaries of those charities from unscrupulous practices in the solicitation and management of charitable assets. Also supervises the activity of foundations and other charities to ensure that their funds and other property devoted to charitable purposes are properly used, and protects the public interest in charitable gifts and bequests contained in wills and trust agreements. The Bureau also maintains a registry of charities and fundraising professionals. Charitable organizations operating in New York State are required by law to register and file annual financial reports with the Attorney General's Office. This includes any organization that conducts charitable activities, holds property that is used for charitable purposes, or solicits financial or other contributions.

Regional Office of the New York Attorney General serving Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties. Helps citizens by protecting consumers and investors, charitable donors, the public health and environment, and the rights of wage-earners and businesses. Offers online information including a Child Care Facility Search feature which provides a listing of regulated child care providers in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. There is also an online screening tool to help parents determine their eligibility for financial support from the state's Child Care Assistance Program for low or no-cost child care.
