Focuses on creating asset development opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs. Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Program site serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Warming/Cooling Center is open before going there.

Program designed to strengthen male and father engagement with children and families throughout the city of Buffalo and Western New York. Services include: - Parenting and relationships education through the 13-week Nurturing Fathers Program - Mentoring, coaching, and resource navigation for young adult fathers aged 18–24 - Personal finance education - Domestic violence programming through the 17-week Caring Dads Program

Works with dads--biological fathers, adoptive fathers, father figures, and grandfathers--of children up to 24 years old. Provides life skills training, life coach services, employability skills training, parenting skills training, 24/7 DADS class, and MoneySmart program to benefit dads. Works with dads both in the community and in incarceration. Incentives are provided to complete the training.

The free TRIO EOC program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, hosted at SUNY Genesee Community College (GCC) provides free support to aid community members in applying to, funding and enrolling in further education. The purpose of the program is to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. Staff are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of high school equivalencies, higher education applications and processes, state and federal financial aid, veteran and family-of-veteran education benefits, and scholarship opportunities available at the local, state, and national levels. Program OverviewOut of school young adults (ages 18-24) to secure meaningful employment.

Provide opportunities to develop their leadership and management skills through participation in activities. Also, provide educational workshops that deal with the essentials of money management, asset building and financial independence.

PREP is a teen pregnancy prevention program for middle school-aged youth that uses evidence-based program models to educate youth on healthy decision-making patterns, abstinence and contraception, as well as adult preparatory subjects, which includes healthy relationships, financial literacy, effective parent-child communication, and college and career planning. PREP has an Advisory Board that is dedicated to helping through cross-collaborative partnerships (related to positive youth development work), program oversight, sustainability, and expansion opportunities for youth in Haverstraw and Spring Valley.

Offers a school-to-work financial literacy program to fifth grade students attending Long Island school districts. A six week preparatory program focuses on problem solving, critical thinking, effective communication strategies and teamwork through hands-on activities. Features a culminating field trip to a simulated business community with students participating in a variety of business transactions, business operations and management roles.
