Provides emergency financial assistance in the form of one month's back rent and/or security to eligible clients. Budget counseling is also available to interested applicants.

Free energy efficiency and financial management workshops are held throughout the service territories. These Workshops are conducted by Cornell Cooperative Extension as part of the Empower New York Program with funding from NYSERDA.

• Financial counseling services

Offers a wide range of financial services to New York State residents. Provides foreclosure assistance including help obtaining loan modifications and information on available federal programs. Assists Holocaust victims and their heirs in the recovery of stolen art, monetary assets deposited in banks and insurance monies owed to beneficiaries. Offers consumers assistance in filing complaints about lender banks, other financial institutions and insurance companies. Provides disaster assistance related to insurance and financial services.

Nutrition education, food safety education, financial management, food shopping and dietary planning available to food stamp eligible individuals and families.

Provides supports and raising awareness for community families through one-on-one advocacy, and support, goal setting, budget development and individual attention as well as larger community presentations, increased access to services, and referrals to appropriate community resources.

Offers support services to community members in financial crisis, including provision of food, pet food, clothing, household items, medical equipment exchange, limited prescription assistance, and medical transportation assistance. Other services include a monthly Mobile Food Pantry (open to anyone), budgeting assistance/financial education, and more. Will work to meet other needs where support is not available in the community. Provides backpacks filled with school supplies each year to low income children, K-6th grade, while supplies last. Supplies are given out at the Cornerstone Building located at 204 North Main Street in Perry, NY; call 585-237-2600 for questions. Donations accepted and volunteer opportunities available. The Angel Action Holiday Christmas Program provides clothing and gifts for children of all ages through a shopping event open to parents and grandparents.

Limited emergency financial assistance to Tioga County, NY residents only. Financial assistance is determined on a case-by-case basis and may be available for utilities to avoid shut-off, rental arrears to avoid eviction, partial security deposit.

Provides on-site emergency food pantry for residents of specific streets in the City of North Tonawanda (call for details) and information on meal planning and budgeting. Provides rent, mortgage, and utility payment assistance to low income individuals and families when funds are available; funds are currently unavailable. Fair Housing Advocacy Program assists individuals who feel they are victims of discrimination when purchasing or renting a home. Offers information, assessment, and referral to the appropriate federal, state, or local human rights agency or court. Provides housing location services and landlord/tenant advocacy. Individual advocacy, information and referral, application assistance, asset management, and budget counseling are also available.

The Debt Management Program (DMP) gives participants a personalized, structured, repayment plan to address each creditors requirements. Unlike a bankruptcy or debt settlement, clients repay 100% of the original debt over several years.

People suffering under the burden of student loans learn about the various payment plans, deferment programs and special options available. We provide a complete financial analysis to determine which program best suits the borrower.

Provides personalized financial management and budgeting education classes to assist families in asset building and work towards financial independence. Programming includes linkages to community resources, creating a budget, meal planning and grocery shopping, and home energy savings tips.

Focuses on helping individuals gain assets and become self-sufficient, improving the health and safety and energy efficiency measures in their home, and helping to develop and improve local businesses. Directly offers opportunities for home ownership and education, energy conservation through weatherization assessment, and renovation services. Also offers financial services such as budgeting along with homeownership, credit, bankruptcy, and foreclosure counseling.

Provide prepurchase, first time homebuyers, default delinquency counseling, budget counseling, foreclosure prevention, pre and post bankruptcy counseling. Walk-ins accepted. Call for further information. Counseling services available in Spanish.

Provides one on one counseling for individual and families to establish financial stability, and help them reach their financial goals.

Provides a variety of programs designed to provide support and socialization opportunities for seniors living independently. Programs include health and wellness workshops and speakers, one-on-one counseling and advocacy, caregiver supports, lifeline, housecleaning, and field trips. Socialization based groups include quilting, walking, computer classes, grief and loss groups. Provides food delivery to residents of Mechanicville Public Housing.
