Offers a Victim Impact Panel run by the Suffolk County Probation Department in conjunction with the Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD). The DUI Victim Impact Panel Program is an awareness program for offenders convicted of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. The panels consist of a non-confrontational presentation consisting of crime victims telling their own personal stories of how impaired drivers forever changed their lives. The panel presents a unique perspective to the offender that is often overlooked or simply cannot be taught by the courts and the DUI offender schools. Provides assistance to individuals who have a history of aggressive behavior with the opportunities of change learned behaviors through education. Clients are educated on the legal implications of their behavior as well as its efforts on their significant other and family members. Emphasis is placed on learning to take responsibility for one's behavior and learning to control violent impulses. Clients are given information on counseling services available to them and their families.

We provide a Batterer's Intervention Program for male and female perpetrators of domestic violence. Our program is based off the Duluth Model of Domestic Violence Intervention. We provide intakes and evaluations for individuals mandated by Suffolk and Nassau County Courts, Child Protection Services, New York State Parole, Suffolk County Probation Department, and other local referral sources. We also accept individuals from the community who are not legally mandated, but are voluntarily seeking out Domestic Violence Intervention/Batterer's Services for themselves and their loved ones. Our program is a minimum of 32 weeks for successful completion, however sometimes the recommendation is for a longer stay in the program. We provide group and individual services. We also facilitate offender groups that are specific to parenting themes.

Responsible for the service and enforcement of orders of protection throughout Suffolk County. They also arrest individuals charged with violating orders of protection and those with family offense related warrants. The Unit provides victims with a safe refuge by removing batterers from the home, seizing weapons and executing arrest warrants against the perpetrators of domestic violence. The Unit works closely with various domestic violence agencies both on the private and county level to offer or assist victims of domestic violence. Call for more detailed information.

Latinas Prosperando or Thriving Latinas program is for Latina immigrant women who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking. Case management, ESL classes, financial literacy, education on housing search options, and workforce development support is provided. Knitting Our Stories - Tejiendo Nuestras Historias, provides a safe space where women can learn to heal from past traumatic experiences through a culturally-adapted support group and art therapy.
