Provides a number of support services for anyone who is a victim of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include 24/7 hotline, confidential emergency shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, court assistance and accompaniment, safety for pets left behind, transportation, translation and referrals to other services or resources that will be needed. Also provides multilingual and culturally focused services for lesbians, gays, Latinos, African-American, Asian, Haitian, and Jewish Orthodox.

Responsible for the service and enforcement of orders of protection throughout Suffolk County. They also arrest individuals charged with violating orders of protection and those with family offense related warrants. The Unit provides victims with a safe refuge by removing batterers from the home, seizing weapons and executing arrest warrants against the perpetrators of domestic violence. The Unit works closely with various domestic violence agencies both on the private and county level to offer or assist victims of domestic violence. Call for more detailed information.

Investigating all reported domestic incidents and providing assistance to victims of Domestic Violence. The Domestic Violence/Elder Abuse Bureau of the Suffolk County Police Department conducts confidential investigations involving domestic violence and elder abuse, and acts as a liaison to the courts, outside agencies and governmental entities. The Domestic Violence/Elder Abuse Bureau also provides outreach to victims of domestic violence and raises community awareness through education regarding family violence issues. Offers educational awareness programs to civic organizations, schools, mental health agencies and institutions concerning the epidemic of domestic violence, women's reentry, human trafficking, and teen dating awareness.

Holds hour-and-a-half virtual sessions where court mandated participants are confronted by an individual who lost a loved one or experienced tragic losses due to someone else's drinking and driving. Program ends with an educational session to assist participants in making low risk choices around drinking.

Latinas Prosperando or Thriving Latinas program is for Latina immigrant women who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking. Case management, ESL classes, financial literacy, education on housing search options, and workforce development support is provided. Knitting Our Stories - Tejiendo Nuestras Historias, provides a safe space where women can learn to heal from past traumatic experiences through a culturally-adapted support group and art therapy.

Provides outpatient mental health services including individual, marital, family, parent, and group therapy; depression and anxiety counseling; psychiatric assessment and treatment; medication management and provision; crisis intervention and case management; specialized programs in stress management; domestic violence intervention for victims and perpetrators; and trauma recovery.

Adult group counseling program which teaches self-esteem improvement, relationship awareness, stress and anger management, and communication skills as an alternative to domestic violence.

Provides non-residential services to victims of Domestic Violence. Services include safety planning, basic counseling, case management, hospital accompaniment, domestic violence awareness/education, temporary assistance waivers/housing assistance, transportation, and referrals for immigrant/immigration services, safe dwelling/shelter, legal assistance, and other relevant supportive services. Also provides court advocacy including help with preparation and filing of Family Court documents such as orders of protection and custody, and will accompany victims to court upon request. All services continue to be available after hours via the Orleans County Sheriff's Dispatch.

Program works closely with the Niagara Country District Attorney's office to assist in achieving an outcome that the complainant/victim is satisfied with. If you feel you may be involved in a domestic violence relationship or have questions regarding domestic violence, the "Key To Lockout" Program may be able to assist you with filing a report, seeking an order of protection, safety planning for you and your children, court advocacy, and referrals to community agencies such as emergency shelters, counseling programs, and family court.

Provides individual, youth, and family counseling, play therapy, co-parenting help for unmarried parents, budget counseling, emergency food assistance, information and referral, advocacy, services to the elderly and their families, and domestic violence classes if mandated by the court. During the holiday season, provides assistance with coats, food vouchers to purchase ingredients for holiday meals, and toys/gifts for families who are not receiving gifts from Toys for Tots or Salvation Army.

Provides emergency assistance with food through food vouchers. Provides counseling services including adoption counseling, advocacy, death/grief counseling, family counseling, and individual counseling, including for teens. Offers domestic violence sessions for men who are mandated by the criminal justice system or an agent of the courts for 26/52 sessions. Day and evening sessions available. Program designed to strengthen male and father engagement with children and families throughout the city of Buffalo and Western New York. Services include: - Parenting and relationships education through the 13-week Nurturing Fathers Program - Mentoring, coaching, and resource navigation for young adult fathers aged 18–24 - Personal finance education - Domestic violence programming through the 17-week Caring Dads Program

Staff collaborates with Jamestown City Court, Chautauqua County District Attorney's office, Catholic Charities (domestic violence classes for men), Chautauqua County Probation/Parole, Salvation Army, and many other human service counseling agencies to provide a coordinated community response to domestic violence. Offers substance abuse and alcohol treatment services in English and Spanish to special need clients. Specialized care includes a woman's track that employs a trauma informed framework, a mentally ill chemical abuser (MICA) program, a batterer intervention program for clients mandated to treatment or referred from parole/probation or Integrated Domestic Violence courts, and OMH Adult Satellite Clinic that serves adults and young adults with mental health and substance abuse.
