The Office of the Town Attorney is responsible for representing the town in all matters. We prosecute and defend claims on behalf of the town, draft legislation and Town Code amendments, and prepare contracts entered into by the town. In addition, this department provides counsel and advice to all elected officials and town departments.

Prepares all ordinances, prosecutes violations of Town Code and defends litigation brought against the Town for civil damages. Prepares and oversees contracts entered into by the Town and gives legal advice to the Town Board and other town departments on a daily basis.

Represents the Town and the Town Board in litigation. Approves all legal matters before they are presented to the Town Board.

Serves as chief legal counsel for village officials and offices. Drafts and reviews local laws, represents the village in court proceedings. Represents the municipality in a legal context, does not represent individual residents of the Village.

Acts as principal legal advisor to the Town Board and all town departments represents town before any court in matters affecting its interest drafts resolutions, local laws and ordinances for the Town Board.

Prepares and amends legislation, enforces town codes, represents the town in legal proceedings, and provides legal counsel to the Town Board, department heads and commissioners.
