Provides legal representation to individuals that are financially unable to obtain legal counsel without a substantial hardship, who are accused and facing possible imprisonment or those involved with the criminal, surrogate, or family court.

* Provides constitutionally mandated legal representation in criminal matters to people who cannot afford to pay for their own lawyer. Represents some clients of the office in Family Court cases in which clients are entitled to legal representation.* Handles matters involving felonies, misdemeanors, appeals, parole, probation, vehicle and traffic, and some simple violations of law in Ontario County Court, Geneva, and Canandaigua City Court, Drug Court, and the various Justice Courts in Ontario County. Handles arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) and Youth Part.

* Provide legal representation at Criminal Courts and Family Court.

Receives and reviews applications and determines eligibility for free attorney services. Attorneys handle cases involving violations, misdemeanors, felonies, appeals in criminal court and most matters in family court.

Free legal representation for persons who have been charged with criminal offenses in Rockland County.

The State requires each county to provide legal counsel to indigent offenders, it the accused faces possible imprisonment, or is involved in a custody case before the Surrogate, or Family Court.

Works with clients on alternative sentencing and investigates cases in which clients are accused.

Provides quality legal representation to clients who have criminal charges filed against them and who have been determined to be indigent. Also available to assist indigent individuals who have been contacted regarding a criminal police matter, before they have been formally charged.Information is supplied all day and office intakes are done between 9:00 am-11:30 am.People with questions or persons needing legal counsel may call for information all day between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm.

Contributes to the efficient and effective operation of the criminal justice system in Monroe County where appropriate, advocates and works toward achieving results that have the greatest likelihood to help rehabilitate clients.

Involves every aspect of criminal law from investigation through trial to post-judgment proceedings and appeals. Serves village and town justice courts, including Family Court.
