Children's Services Division - ECDSS

Collaborates with community agencies and service providers to support families based on their cultural and individual strengths and needs to provide preventive and foster care services. Provides child welfare program, adoption services, preventive services, and foster care resulting from voluntary or court placement. Preventive services are supports and assistance to help a family learn skills (such as coping skills, parenting skills, budgeting skills, anger management, etc.) that will prevent a child from being abused and therefore removed from the home.

Salvation Army Domestic Violence Rape Crisis Program

Residential and Shelter Program: Open to all victims of domestic violence and their children. Provides information and referral, advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, support group, and case management. Non-Residential Services: Chautauqua County Domestic Violence Rape Crisis Hotline, information and referral, advocacy, support groups, crisis intervention, and case management. Children and Family Outreach: Provides group and individual counseling services to children who are past or present victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and/or child abuse. Education and Outreach: Offers presentations in schools and the community on a variety of topics, with a focus on domestic violence and sexual assault. Child Advocacy Program - Dunkirk

Coordinates with the Chautauqua County Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Team to respond to child physical and sexual abuse cases to reduce trauma to children and non-offending family members and stewards of children. Offers a prevention and response training for adults. Provides trauma counseling and problematic sexual behavior counseling for children 17 and under.
