Provides a hotline for citizens, to remain anonymous, and to report tips or knowledge about local, state or national crimes, to help in the capture of fugitives or suspects. Awards are also offered if a tip leads to the capture and arrest.

Teaches students how to look for warning signs, signals, and threats, especially in social media, of an individual who may be a threat to themselves or others and to say something to a trusted adult to get help. We want to teach students to understand and recognize warning signs and threats, how to act immediately, take it seriously, understand strategies to take action, and overcome potential barriers to being an “upstander” rather than a “bystander." Ultimately, the student is taught to seek out a trusted adult. Contact the Community Relations Office to have this program offered at your school.

Provides assistance to state residents on consumer issues, and and assists with filing complaints. Also offers educational outreach presentations which focus on identity theft prevention, mitigation, avoiding scams and more.

Consumer Protection receives and investigates complaints, initiates investigations of fraud and/or unfair dealings. Public education on consumer frauds and scams.

Monitors financial transactions, reports results of operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and advises County departments and agencies on discharging their responsibilities in a manner deserving of the public trust. Works closely with County administration to achieve structural budgetary balance and develop appropriate internal controls to protect the County's assets.
