This program is a 90-180 day transitional housing program for VA eligible veterans. Supportive case management services and linkage to VA medical and support services are provided as well.

Provides assistance to disabled veterans in obtaining benefits they are entitled to.

Provides information and referrals for eligible veterans and their families about benefit programs, education, financial assistance, disability-related issues and other resources.

Provides assistance for veterans who are having difficulty understanding and/or obtaining the full benefits and services to which they are entitled by law based on service to their country.

Connects veterans, military families with financial assistance programs to modify their homes.

Offers assistance enrolling in VA health care programs and transitioning from military to civilian life as well as accessing additional community resources. Also provides assistance with other veterans benefits including education benefits, disability compensation, home loans, and employment assistance.

Provides individual and group readjustment counseling,(specific for war trauma) marital and family counseling, alcohol and drug counseling, bereavement counseling for family members of those killed or injured in the global war on terrorism, and support groups for spouse and significant others. Also provides sexual harassment counseling, intimidation, assault or rape while on active duty regardless of where they served. Provides benefits assistance and referral, job referral and community education. Gives referrals to community agencies, and acts as liasion with Veteran's Administration facilities.

Offers counseling services for combat zone veterans from every conflict. Offers safe place for combat veterans or those who have suffered military sexual trauma and PTSD. Offers veteran-focused bereavement counseling and military sexual trauma counseling. Individual, group, marital and family counseling. Alcohol/drug assessment and referral. Anger and stress management. Also offers parenting classes, benefits/job counseling, physical therapy, meditation/yoga.

Provides a food pantry for Veterans, the Military and their families, and families in need. LI Cares hosts Military Appreciation Tuesdays in Huntington Station, Lindenhurst, and Freeport which gives veterans and their families access to food, personal care items, household products, pet food, and school supplies. Also veterans are provided with information and resources pertaining to veteran special benefits. LI Cares also operates a Mobile Pantry which delivers nutritious groceries to homebound, disabled veterans unable to access their local pantries.

Provides a full range of entitlement counseling, including Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Benefits, tax abatement, educational lectures, and on-going care givers support groups. Program also includes a referral service for home care assistance and non-emergency medical transportation. A food pantry is available to those who are eligible on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Assists veterans or the surviving spouse of a veteran with financial aid through the VA to help pay for non-medical home care services, such as light housekeeping, errand running, and meal preparation. Call for more information.
